Rethinking Therapy

During my master's program at UNC, I learned that the strongest predictor of therapeutic success isn't a technique, but trust. Trust in a therapist creates safety to be honest with yourself. That honesty builds self-understanding - what you value, what you want, and what's been getting in the way. But therapists aren't the only path to that trust. A dog can teach it. A community can foster it. Meditation, movement, time in nature - there are many ways to build trust with yourself. And when you do, you start defining what a good life looks like and recognizing who helps you live it. This is what drives my work: helping people understand themselves so they can design meaningful lives and relationships.
